Coarse threads (approximately 2/3 up the shank) draw the decking and other material tightly to the substrate.
The ShieldGuard coating is only designed for use in non-corrosive, non-marine environments. When your working in a harsher environment, stainless steel is a better option. Type 305 stainless steel offers good protection against general corrosion risk, while type 316 stainless is recommended for harsh, salty, marine environments.
