WoodRx Sealer/Stain
WoodRx Original Formula Semi-Transparent Wood Sealer/Stain
For decades, WoodRx Original Formula has been a proven leader for the protection of wood surfaces. It is a technologically advanced, water based finish that effectively penetrates, seals and protects exterior wood surfaces. WoodRx resists moisture penetration and retards the aging (silvering) process of new wood. It contains an effective fungicide which resists mildew growth on the film and a powerful UV screener which filters out the sun's harmful rays. WoodRx protects and beautifies wood surfaces 3-5 times longer than conventional, competitive wood sealers.
Recommended Climates:
WoodRx Original Formula is only recommended for tropical and subtropical climates that do not regularly experience freezing conditions. If you live in an area that freezes regularly, WoodRx Ultra is the preferred product.
Recommended Uses:
WoodRx Original Formula can be used on virtually all properly prepared, exterior wood surfaces such as decks, docks, sidings, specialty hardwoods, pressure treated lumber, fences, and log/timber frame homes. Do not apply over previously sealed, painted, or stained wood surfaces, unless it has been previously sealed with this same product. Surfaces that have been sealed or coated with other products will likely need to be completely stripped of the product. Contact one of our sales associates for assistance.
Product Application Overview:
WoodRx Original Formula has a heavier viscosity than WoodRx Ultra, so the application process requires a bit more effort. Because the product is thicker, it is typically applied using a brush, roller, or painters pad. It can also be applied using special airless sprayers that can handle heavier viscosity products. WoodRx Original Formula should not be applied in direct hot sunlight, when threat of rain exists, or when surface temperatures are below 50ยกF. Pressure treated and wax-impregnated wood should weather for a minimum of 6 months before treating with WoodRx Original Formula. For full application instructions, including required surface preparation, please consult the application instructions PDF below.
Coverage:
WoodRx Original Formula covers 200-350 square feet per gallon (per coat), depending on the age, porosity, and contour of the surface being coated. Two coats are always recommended for maximum performance.
Product Highlights:
- Semi-transparent stain enhances the natural grain of the wood
- High UV protection prolongs the life of the wood
- Contains mildew resistant fungicide
- Environmentally friendly, non-toxic
- WoodRx Original is only recommended for climates that do not regularly experience freezing conditions
